DV Video Tutorial

Step 1:

If you haven't already download the file DVVideo.zip and unzip to your desktop.

Important Info:
Before opening the application you will need a video file. This can be an avi, mov, or mpg. Mpg's are preferred. The size of the file can not exceed more than 600MB since 10MB are needed for the source files.

You can use smaller size cd-r's but you must remember
that those cd-r's hold about 120MB.

Open the folder that you downloaded from our website. There should be 8 items in the DVVideo folder. Place your video file in the folder: Make sure it is named video + the extension of your file. ie: .

If you have your own background image you would like to use then make sure the width of the file is 640 pixels and the height is 440 pixels. The format for the image can be jpg, gif, or png. Place your background file in the folder: Make sure the file is named background + the extension of your file. ie: .

Step 2:

Double Click on . After the application launches you will see a screen like the one on the right. The software uses a menu bar for inserting text, downloading a background image, and importing your background.

Step 3:

Insert text by accessing the Insert Text: Full --> Insert Text Menu:

Step 4:

After inserting your text you have to set the text by selecting menu and and selecting Insert Text: Full --> Set Text Menu.

This allows you to drag the type around and place it where you want.

Step 5:

You can change the color, size and font by accessing the Insert Text: Full Menu.

By repeating the steps above you can add text to the side of the video and also change it's color, size, and font.

Step 6:

Next you can download a background off our website by selecting Download Background from the menu bar.

You can then click and drag on your text and video box to design your layout.

Step 7:

Only and only when you are ready to save your file go to
File --> Save in the menu.

**After saving the file you can not change the file. Undo Save only allows the user to reposition the text and movie. If you do use Undo Save, you must Save the file again to set the positions. **

Then select File --> Quit. Once you Quit the application you can no longer edit anything in the application.

Now go back to the DVVideo folder and double click onto test your video presentation.
The presentation should open and your video will start playing.

**Note: The menu bar is gone and you can not alter the presentation any further. This is why you only quit when you are absolutely sure you're done. The water mark is there only on the trial version. It is removed in the registered version.

Step 7:

After finishing the steps above you will need to burn the files to a cd-rom. You can use whatever burning application you want, for this example we will be using Easy CD Creator from Roxio.

The screen shot on the right shows how it should be set up if you want the application to autostart on inserting the disk.
